The terroir of Rueda is located in the northwest of Spain, in the Duero River valley, at an altitude of 600–800 meters above sea level. The region is characterized by a continental climate with marked daily temperature fluctuations: hot summers (+35 to +40°C) and cold winters (-5 to -10°C), which preserve the acidity and aromas of the grapes. The average annual rainfall is 300-500 mm, mainly in spring and autumn.
The soil is sandy, poor in organic matter, and practically devoid of water resources. This results in small grapes concentrated in flavor, achieving the ideal balance between sugar content and acidity.

History of the winery
José Antonio Arévalo and Benicio García founded their winery "Garciarévalo" in 1991, uniting two families, "García and Arévalo", with the goal of producing wines from grapes grown in century-old vineyards located in the municipality of Matapozuelos, known for its finest Verdejo grape varieties.
The philosophy of "Garciarévalo" is to create wines that reflect our roots, land, and climate, combined with winemaking traditions, modern knowledge, and technologies.
Vineyards
The estate vineyards are located in the Valladolid region, between the banks of the Adaja and Eresma rivers. This location between the two rivers creates a unique microclimate, with temperatures that are 3–4°C lower than in the rest of the region. This results in a significant temperature difference between day and night.
The winery's research and development efforts are primarily focused on cultivating ancient pre-phylloxera Verdejo vines—nearly extinct, but still surviving in this region.
